Centrifugal casting
In centrifugal casting, bearing metal is filled into the rotating support body in liquid form.
The centrifugal force presses the liquid metal against the wall of the base body, where it solidifies. The result compared to a static casting process is excellent bonding strength and a higher degree of purity, as the centrifugal force reduces the formation of pores and blowholes.
Stand casting
In stand casting, the liquid bearing metal is poured manually.
When producing axial segments, the bearing metal is applied to the segments, which have previously been provided with a casting frame.
Welding of bearing metal
Welded coating processes for bearing metals are typically used when the base body geometry has such large irregularities in terms of wall thickness that directional cooling from the rear of the base body to the bonding zone is not possible. Finally, it is suitable for base bodies of practically any size and geometry. For the actual work step, the area of the base body to be coated is aligned horizontally. The edges of the area to be coated are sealed with appropriately manufactured frames or sheets and suitable sealing material. We use bearing metals in triangular or square profile form as bar material for welding. Once the prescribed base body temperature has been reached, the actual welding process begins on one side and should be carried out quickly across the entire width of the base body.

Coating process
Centrifugal casting | permanent casting | welding of bearing metal
The surface of a workpiece can be coated with various materials. They are initially present in liquid form and solidify during the coating process. The most important coating processes are centrifugal casting, static casting and the welding of bearing metal. Various materials, such as bearing metal with a high tin content, are used.
Centrifugal casting
Bearing Material
With centrifugal casting the bearing metal is initially in liquid form. It is filled into a rotating support body. Centrifugal force presses the liquid bearing metal against the wall of the base body to be coated .
As a result, the material solidifies. This process allows it to adhere permanently to the base body. Once the coating process is complete, it has an excellent bonding strength .
Stand casting
Bearing Material
The floor casting is another coating process that is used very frequently in practice. Here the Bearing metal in liquid form. This is done during the production of axial segments, for example. Due to its liquid form, it is easy to apply the bearing metal to the individual segments. To simplify this process, the segments are provided with a casting frame in advance.
Welding of bearing metal
Welding bearing metal is an extremely versatile process. Components of the most varied geometries can be coated in this way. It can be used in particular if the geometry of the base body to be coated has major irregularities due to its wall thickness. Here, there is often a risk that directional cooling from the back of the base body to the bonding zone is not possible. This can be prevented by welding the bearing metal . In general, the size and shape of the base body to be coated is completely irrelevant. There are rarely any restrictions on the use of the process.
To start welding bearing metal , the base body to be coated must first be aligned horizontally. To start welding bearing metal, the base body to be coated must first be aligned horizontally. It is then important to seal the edges of the base body either with metal sheets or with suitable frames. The bearing metals that are suitable for this coating process are usually triangular or square profiles that are available as bar material. Once the prescribed temperature of the base body has been reached when welding bearing material, the actual welding process can begin.
